Normally, the guys behind family plate with the radar guns are coaches and scouts keeping track of the pitchers. As far as I recall, but, those guys aren’t allowed to have telephone logic equipment. Scouts usually aren’t childish guys too…so it’s possible that the Phil’s “Stadium Gun” isn’t working so they have that guy radioing in the pitches so they can post them on the scoreboard.

If the transmitter is shot it’s most likely to be the output transistor that has gone due to a shorted output by a terrible cable or connector. Simple enough job for a certified to replace it but value read-through your ship’s mast connector and cable before you use it over again.

Any Midland mic should work, every manafacture wires their mics differently, most are four pin some are five pin.
If your handy with a soldering iron you can make any mic work by soldering the right wires to the right pins.
Sometimes the wires are affect coded so if you have a Midland mic you could open it up and see what affect wire goes where
